I've got an Iphone 4

Version 4.1 (8B117)

Firmware 02.10.04

How can I unlock this phone? Don't care to jailbreak just unlock?

Is it even possible?

Step by step guide?

If your carrier offers an official unlock, that is currently the only way for baseband 2.10 and above on IP4. Otherwise, you have to wait for unofficial unlock which would require JB phone and updated Ultrasnow.

Awesome thanks for the quick response.

Very unfortunate.

So 100% no way around waiting correct?

How often do these releases come out and where is the best place to watch for them?

I apologize for threadjacking, but my question is very similar to yours.

My friend's phone is similar to yours.
4.1 firmware
02.10.04 baseband.

Can it be jailbroken AND unlocked?

Thanks.

edit:
It seems jailbreak-me.info answers "no" to my question.

I hate to be sarcastic, but the answer to your question is right above your post. But to reiterate:

jailbreak: yes
unlock: no

I'm on the same issue as you. Check this out - I got a 32gb iPhone 4 from a guy in the US, a friend of mine, as he couldn't use AT&T in the area he lives in. More money than brains, so he sells it to me for $200.

I'm in Canada so I want to unlock it, but I'm stuck on the same baseband as you guys. Waiting for that ultrasn0w update!!!

But I so appreciate the free work that the dev team do, so I'm not complaining or impatient. I can't believe they put so much time into it.

Jailbroken phones are so cool though.
