iPhone 4 crashes when editing photos in the camera roll? (iOS 5.1)
https://t.co/5uLhGWQn

Yes. Happens here too. Very annoying.

I'm actually so close to throwing this phone under a slowly moving steamroller, it's not funny.

Apple really need to lift their game.

Maybe you have a bug on your phone and need to restore it?

Mine phone doesn't crash when looking or editing my camera roll photos.

Tried restoring it.

But I'm in touch with a senior support guy at Apple.

I think this (second replacement) is a lemon and I think it needs to be replaced again.

Just to test this for me. Take a screenshot of your phone. Go to the 'Photos' App. Tap the picture you've taken, then tap 'Edit'... Crop... Crash / restart?

OP, I can confirm that cropping screenshots crashes my Springboard. I'm on an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1.

Not just any screenshot, however - it only happens with screenshots that I've taken during a call. Can you confirm this?

Thanks.

no issues here

I tried your test word for word, and no problems here. I am running a 4s with 5.1.1

Also tried it out on a picture I took during a call, still no problems.

Try restoring as new and load your apps in one at a time, and see if and when it starts to crash.
It's tedious, but you should find out what program is the problem.

Yes, went through that painful process already. Everything was fine, then the next day I took a screenshot, went to crop it and the phone restarted again and over again.

Really disappointed. I have a call with an Apple tech tonight. See how I go.

I can take a screenshot during a call or not and go to crop. Sometimes the phone restarts right away and sometimes after flicking back and forwards a few times - then cropping.

This is getting really frustrating.
