iPhone 4 and iOS 6

Before upgrading, what's been the consensus of the 4 running iOS 6? I know about some of the missing new features that won't make the cut, but what about battery life, and speed/smoothness? Has any of that taken a hit, stayed the same, or gotten better?

I upgraded a 4 for a friend this morning. Performance under ios6 seemed great to me. No lag.
