I have one of the early iPhone 3GSs that did not need to be tethered. I am thinking of selling mine and buying an iPhone 4. One major thing stopping me is having a phone that needs to be tethered. Seeing as it will contain the new boot rom.
Do we think that the new iPhone 4s will have untethered jailbreaks? Are devteam/geohot/etc more determined to make an untethered since they all had 3GS that contained the old boot rom? Or is it just that much harder to make an untethered jail break? I obviously dont understand the technical aspects.
I know spirt was untethered but it using a userland exploit that is really hard to find, according to the dev team.
I cant risk my phone being out of commission until I get to a computer. How did other 3GS users with the newer bootrom deal with it?
