Here's the story:

I installed a new OS, plugged in my iPhone, it tried to sync my applications and asked for my iTunes store username and password.

I pressed cancel or something because it wasn't working. It then deleted all applications from my iPhone because they weren't authorized.

I lost all my saved game data and application data because of this. :(

Any way to get it back? I have a copy of my old saved iPhone profile before I reinstalled the OS but it's from earlier in June.

I think the only way is to restore my phone from that old backup. I think I will only lose some text messages. I haven't used any games since then so I can't think of what else I could be losing besides some application data here and there.

Restore from backup is the only way to go

Here's what I'm attempting:

Restore from earlier backup. Jailbreak and install "AppBackup" from Cydia. Save the "saved application" data and copy that somewhere. Update my iPhone to the current firmware, and copy that saved app data back.

I'm not sure if it's going to work, but I'm attempting it now.
