iPhone 4 Apps store login

I bought a used iPhone 4 but when I log into the apps store into my account it says that the phone I am using is listed to another name-account holder. How can I reset it to my name ? Any ideas ?

Perhaps the previous owner failed to disassociate the iPhone from their Apple ID before selling it to you. Do you know the seller?

Unfortunately no. I have tried to look it up on YouTube and even though there are many ways to do other things this is not covered that I can locate.

On iOS 6+
Settings -> App Store-> Tap Apple ID -> Sign Out

Not sure if it's there on older versions, but it should be
