So here's the deal.

I recently got new phones for all of our accounts.

One of the iPhone 4 was still covered by Apple Care Plus and it had a problem.

So I took it to the Apple Store and they replaced it with a 'new' unit.

Now the phone is not needed and I would like to sell it.

Will AT&T unlock the phone for me .... or do I have to go another route?

If it's out of contract...they will...

If it's out of contract...they will...

It is and they said they would.

Went to their Unlock Request page and got a message saying " cannot unlock ".

I suspect it has something to do with this particular phone never being on the account before.

My daughter got her new phone and gave me the old one.

New phone was activated.

Took old phone to Apple and they gave me a replacement.

Replacement was never activated on the account, and maybe this is the issue.

Maybe I could pull the sim from my iPhone and put it in the replacement to 'introduce' it to the system.

Her old number ended in 2311 - she was able to upgrade to a new phone and enter a new two year contract.

However the original contract date was due to end on Dec 18.

I'll have to give ATT a call in the morning.

My account, ending in 8093 has been out of contract for over a year.

In the end I want both her old one and my old one unlocked.

I plan to be getting a new phone this week and it probably will not be an iPhone.
