I found a tip online about using the SAM utility to fix push issues on my phone: http://jaxov.com/2011/05/download-sam-to-activate-iphone-4-3gs-officially-on-ios-4-3-3/
Now, i had recently wiped the phone and started fresh. For some reason i had to do the small hack to the hosts file on my machine that involved putting in another ip address for apple, to get the thing to restore fresh and reboot without being stuck in recovery mode.
Perhaps i forgot to get rid of the entry and thought i had reactivated the phone via the itunes app (pretty sure i did activate before jailbreaking)..
I then jailbroke and synced all apps, then restored settings i had saved in an itunes backup.
At this point i found that notifcations werent working, even badges werent lighting up.
So i found this SAM technique online.. although all i did was "backup" then i did restore from within the app and now all is well in push world.
Anyone have any idea if i'm ok and legitimately activated via att at this point (with att certs).. or what might have caused this?
Thanks
