iPhone 4 back cover

Hi there,

I was wondering whether it's possible to get rid of a millimetre on the iphone 4 via its back cover.

Would it be possible to create a back cover made out of a thin aluminium with the required attachments so as to secure it on the back of the phone.
With this, you could eliminate the plastic band round the glass back and also cut off some thickness.


Just wondering, would this be possible or has it been done - if so, can you link me to where I can buy a thinner cover

I suppose it's possible, but I've never seen it. You'd probably have to make it. Keep in mind too that a metal backplate would degrade your signal pretty significantly.

It's actually very easy to remove the backplate: just take out the two screws on the bottom of the phone. Try it, then you can see the manufacturing challenge you're up against. Good luck!
