I got into an argument with a friend of mine yesterday about the piece of material that covers the iPhone's camera lens. Both of our lenses are slightly scratched, my friend thinks the lens cover is plastic, I do not.

Would somebody be able to let me know if it is plastic or glass?

Get a nail (not finger nail) and tap it hard,

If it shatters, its glass, but if it cracks, then its plastic. This is an odd thing to argue over.

Next Argument on the agenda:
-Half Full or Half Empty?
-Moon Landing, Real or Fake?

Mines actually all scratched up and all the pictures are coming out grainy/blurry. Is there a way to replace the glass cover?

There's no way this is glass.

The lens cover on mine is scratched to hell, and it only sits on my desk or in my pocket alone. No way is it glass. Look at the back of your phone (which we know is glass) around the lens cover. Is the back all scratched up? Mine doesn't have a mark on it anywhere, let alone near the lens. Therefore the lens cover is plastic.

To top it off, it's not even recessed to protect it. The stupidity of Apple's design here is just PATHETIC.
