iPhone 4 Battery Dead?

not sure if to buy or not, i can easily transfer the battery from my broken iPhone 4 (Same model) and move it over. What are signs of dead logic board? will the screen at least boot up if it was a really logic board issue?

Its an as-is auction, so I would be hesitant. The seller IS making it seem like it may be the battery, but its your call on whether you trust him or not. I would stay away. If its logic board issues, thats no fun.
