I lose 1% about every 3 minutes web-surfing on safari. Is this normal? I'd think the battery would do better than this.

When the phone is on standby I have no issues with battery life, I lost 1% over 3 hours this morning on standby.

who cares about the individual percentage drain, how's your battery life from 100% to 1%, how long does it last? thats what matters more.

I disabled the percentage meter on my phone because I don't need to be freaking out about every individual percentage, I just wait for the Pop-Up (20%-10%-5% battery remaining)

and I get about 5-7 hrs total usage (with mix applications)

Ok, you're surfing the web, 1% every 3 minutes, * 100 = 300 minutes of usage surfing, which equals about 5hrs of 3G usage....not far off at all from what Apple claims official battery life on 3G is.

I'd say you're right on. Stop worrying about % and enjoy your phone.
