With the new 10.6.7 update, I opened /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources, and what do you know: one of the icon files is called
com.apple.iphone-4-black.icns
Basically, this folder contains lots of image files needed for the system, including icons files for computers and other Apple devices. It says iPhone 4 Black, and while White isn't there yet, they wouldn't put Black at the end of the name unless a white one is coming, I think.

EDIT:
com.apple.iphone-4-white.icns
This is included in the latest version of the Lion DP. It also includes the LED Cinema Displays.

I looked in the latest version of Lion DP, and what do you know, a white iPhone 4 is there!

That would corroborate the statements by Phil Schiller of an imminent white iPhone 4 release. That's good news!

Images of both the GSM and CDMA white iPhone 4 are in the program files for iTunes 10.2.

You know, I think I know the point of 10.2.1. 10.2.1 has white iPhone GSM and CDMA versions, but 10.2.0 doesn't (at least not the white ones). I checked both.

Yeah I'm gonna bank on the fact that the addition of the images was the point of the update. Hopefully this may shed some light on an official white iPhone 4 release sometime soon. :D
