iPhone 4 - broken mute switch

Hi,

The mute switch on my iPhone is broken thus the phone is permanently stuck on mute. I did some reading, and saw it was recommended in a few places to download the app AutoSilent. I did so and wasted €3 on it; the app does absolutely nothing to fix this problem. I can't find anything useful on Google so I'm asking here. I'm not considering paying over €100 to get it fixed. Thanks in advance!

you could always buy the button online, its cheap, and perform the fix yourself using online walkthrough videos.
