Iphone 4 camera help

My Iphone 4 used to take beautiful pictures, but recently it has been taking pictures with a grainy effect to it. And it only seems to be when I am taking pictures away from me. When I turn the camera around and take a picture it is fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
