It happened to me this morning.

In the middle of a meeting, the iP4 in my pocket started to vibrate, got it out, expecting a phone call but nope, just black screen and more black screen. tried pressing all buttons on the phone, even tried flicking the ring mode switch on the side... guess what, nothing worked and it just kept on vibrating as if its on a epileptic seizure.

Couldn't just walk out from my meeting, so i put it back into my pocket and enjoy my industrial designed high tech vibrator with retina display sending tingling sensation thru my thighs. All of a sudden, I remember the "Hard Boot" procedure, i took it out again and by pressing the power button and home button together for 10 sec, it rebooted and its now functioning normally.

==========================

Then I checked online and saw quite a few posts mentioning this problem, but no answer.

some say its a hardware thing, some say its an iOS thing and some say its to do with outdated apps.

so what I suggest here is, if you have encountered the same bug, please put down the version of OS, number of Apps that have yet been updated and the which batch is it.

Hopefully this will help to find a reason for this delightful bug.

here is mine:-
1) which batch? - Batch 30
2) iOS version - 4.01
3) how many apps has yet been updated? 14.
4) solved? By a hard reboot

i had the same problem, except i could do things on my phone. it would just vibrate non-stop and only when i powered off my phone it stopped. odd occurrence. any ideas?

any apps running in background? was your phone on vibrate when it happened?

You know some members of the fairer sex might not really see this issue as a problem ;)

I've noticed the same thing, but its usually happen when my alarm is set to go off. The only way to stop the alert and vibration is to hard reboot the phone.

Just another bug that makes living with Apple products so "magical"

Its actually because Apple's new user sensing technology saw you as a female. Have you gotten a blood test lately to make sure your testosterone is estrogen are within range?

This is a hidden feature of the iPhone 4. It's the world's first vibrator/phone combination! This changes everything. Again.

I haven't had this happen on my iPhone 4 yet. I have, however, seen this happen on both my original iPhone and my 3GS. Hard reset always worked, though.

Vibrating Problems

This is mine. My problem started when I allowed a phone call to go unanswered and continue to vibrate non-stop exactly like everyone else.
I have an iPhone 4.

1) which batch? - Batch unknown
2) iOS version - 4.1
3) how many apps has yet been updated? 7.
4) solved? By a hard reboot

Give it to your woman. She'll thank you for it eternally.
