Hey,

I have an iphone 4 running on 4.1. I have it synced to my Macbook Pro running 10.6.7 and itunes 10.3.1. Every time I sync the phone with itunes it says there is new iphone software update available, it downloads it, however it always fails to update and the message comes up that "The iphone **** cannot be updated at this time because the iphone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable"

This has been happening for a while now (obviously since i'm still on 4.1) so I'm not sure what is wrong. I can connect to the itunes store fine/download movies etc but I can't get the iphone software to update.

Does anyone have any advice about what may be causing the problem/how to fix it?

Thanks

EDIT: RESOLVED. I unchecked 'Automatic Proxy Configuration' in my internet settings and it worked! (I can also log in to the facetime app on my computer now, which I hadn't been able to do before).
