So I just got my beautiful new iPhone 4 and I've noticed a discrepancy in capacity. My 3GS and new iP4 are 32Gs and here is what I'm showing with identical content:

3GS:
Capacity: 29.3
Available : 9.2

iPhone 4:
Capacity: 29.1
Available: 8.6

When plugged into iTunes, I see that Audio, Video, and Other take up slightly more space on the iP4 than the 3GS, everything else is the same. Both are running iOS 4.

What gives? Does this have to do with the new display or something? It doesn't seem right, since it doesn't affect Pictures, Apps, or Books. I'm a little peeved that it comes out of the box with less capacity than its predecessor ... I mean, I know it's only 2/10 of a gig, but still, it's less when I needed more anyway. It's also kinda annoying that things are taking up more space than before, thereby creating less free space.

Is anyone else seeing the same thing? Does anyone have any theories as to why I/we are seeing this?
