Iphone 4 custom sms tones

I know this has probably been asked a million time and i am a new. I have googled it for 2 hours and cant find any resent ones.

I would really prefer not to jail break my phone first off, not yet

I was wondering if there is any way possible to make custom txt tones.
i do this with my ringtones easily, is there any simple way for txt tones

Feature exists in iOS 5. Not as custom as most would like, but there are a lot more, and you have the option of buying new ones.

Its funny that we can have custom ring tones but not custom sms tones

I'm not sure if this is an overt strategic decision by apple or more of an oversight.

I remember hearing about the ability to buy new tones for iOS 5. But not sure if those are for SMS or not. But again, everything is still in the "wait and see" mode.

no i live off my phone, and love it reliability. So i am just stuck hoping that os5 has that option.

If you jailbreak and just install a custom SMS tone your iPhone will be no less stable.

Depends if you like your iPhone crashing or not

Your iPhone won't crash if you just download custom sms tones. Jailbreaking is really not a risk.

you will be able to have custom tones in ios5 from what i have seen is that you can use your ring tones as a text tone however in beta one that havent enable that feature yet

Yes u can buy new SMS ringtones in ios 5, I doubt for the final version they will just leave it that way, they will prob update iTunes so u could add more say with like GarageBand (just speculation).

I'm not very big on custom ringtones and notifications, but whenever I'm out, someone else's iPhone goes off with the same notification as mine. Gets me every time!
