iPhone 4 - Cydia crashes on startup

I have not used cydia in a few weeks and today I tried to open it and it crashed on start up. It gets up to loading the first screen and then crashed and goes back to the home screen. I have tried starting it in safe mode but it still has the same problem.
Does anyone know how I can fix it?

Yes, but unfortunately the same thing happens

A possible solution?

Delete the contents of the /var/lib/apt/lists folder (except for the folder called “partial”) through SSH.

Every source I find says the same thing if it crashes when loading, " it's a corrupted repo."
