Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked and answered before.

My family is currently on T-Mobile. I have an old, beat up T-Mobile G1 that is well beyond its life. I am looking at upgrading to the iPhone 4 on AT&T.

We are looking at getting 2 iPhones and 1 'dumb'phone for my mom. Now, I know the minutes are shared by all 3 lines, but what about the data? Texts?

thanks

Each smartphone has to have its own data plan.

For messaging there is a $30.00 family messaging plan that covers all phones.

For an iPhone you must choose between the 200MB $15 and 2GB $25 data plans and each phone must have its own.

$15 + $15 = $30 (200MB each)
$25 + $15 = $40 (2GB for one phone, 200MB for another)
$25 + $25 = $50 (2GB Each)

OH yeah...seems obvious. The apple order screen is weird though, doesn't look like you can select multiple iPhones.

I believe new family plans require an in store visit.

Apple only allows one new iPhone for brand new AT&T customers. I believe that's the curren policy.

Others have answered above. Another Family Plan shared feature is the A-List. Basically, the top 10 numbers (you specify) do not count against your monthly minutes. The same top 10 list is shared among all on the Family Plan.
