iPhone 4 Data Only - Review?

I am wondering if anyone out there is using an iPhone with data only... I was hoping the new iPod Touch would follow the iPad's suit and add 3G but no such luck... I am thinking about getting an iPhone 4 unlocked (I live in Canada) and using it with data only... has any one tried this? I am wondering how badly nerfed it is... can you still make Facetime calls? Are there any other functions (besides making phone calls) that don't work properly?

my guess would be to just buy the ipad sim card put it into the iphone 4 and change the APN to match an iPad and done. You will not get voice nor text msjs though....
