iphone 4 desktop video editing software for windows?

hey guys. i got some great videos taken on my iphone 4 and i want to edit them, cut bits out etc.

the videos are in a .mov format so windows movie maker wont accept them, ive tried converting them to .avi but the quality suffers a great deal and i only get sound when put into movie maker.

is there any software out there that will edit iphone videos in their original format?
