I just upgraded from an iPhone 3G to a iPhone 4.
Love the speed difference.
But ...
The 3G would detect when I plugged in a headset, but my 4 does not.
Is this a "new" feature of the iPhone 4?

sounds like a hardware problem to me. My ip4 detects headphones, speakers, etc just fine. I would take it to the genius bar.

I just checked with a buddy with an new iPhone 4.
His acts like mine.
Doesn't detect headphones.

Are you saying you don’t get the message that headphones are in or are you saying that with headphones in the speaker still works?

I had the opposite occur with one of my 3G’s (always detected head phones, so the speaker never worked for music). It was a hardware issue.
