So I play the radio on my iPhone when I'm having a shower. Not the best idea of course, but the bathroom doesn't steam up too badly.

Anyway, regardless of my idiotic abuse of my iPhone, the ear piece volume has gotten quieter lately. I'm putting it down to steam/moisture resting on the ear piece and causing performance damage. Would this make sense?

My iPhone is out of warranty, but I'm capable enough to open it up and install a replacement ear piece.

So two questions:

1. Is the slightly steamy bathroom the cause of this? It happened before and Apple replaced the iPhone without question when it was under warranty.

2. In the UK, what is a legit site to source parts from? I've found this site which sells it for £5.
