iPhone 4 Flashing White

Anytime my phones screen wakes up, whether it be starting it up, or pulling it away from my face after making a call, it flashes white. I would say, it would be like the video equivalent of 2 frames, but it's enough that it's really starting to get annoying. Anyone else seeing this? My wife's phone is also doing it. We are currently running 4.2.1
