Did a search on the forum, but could not find the answer to my question...

Does the iPhone 4 have a GPS build in it like the iPad 3G or it just uses the antennas reception to calculate its location?

Yes it has GPS. Technically AGPS.

The iPhone uses Wifi, GPS, and Cellular signals to determine your location.

the ipad 3g has gps like the iphone 3g and the iphone 3gs before it. the iphone 4 will continue that trend as well. the gps found in all these devices is assisted gps, which uses cell towers for an immediate triangulation, then it uses the gps for a more precise fix.

Thank you for your answer... I was just curious...

It uses compass to find where you're at :D

Hey, that is what I have in my Jeep as my state of the art navigation system!!! I even got a flash light to light it up at night... And it was only $2.99 out the door!!! But that is because I did the install my self...

On a more serious note, does it use the gps chip that's in the 3GS or the one that's in the iPad? The one in the iPad is noticeably better.

The one on the iPad works great, I used it the other day with the TomTom app, there for I was wondering about the iPhone 4...
