I dunno. Apple is really weird about radio. The iPod nano finally got radio in the last revision, so maybe one day Apple will make the FM radio available for developers.

I listen to radio in the morning and right now streaming it through iheartradio kills my battery a lot more than using an fm tuner would

at my gym you need an FM reciever to listen to any of the 15 different TVs.
i've been a member two years now and still to this day have never been able to listen to the shows i watch while i work out. i'd love it if the iP4 has an fm tuner...i'm tired of reading closed captioning!
 
I wonder if the all of the required support hardware (antenna etc) is hooked up?

Of course FM radio is one use. But with low-level APIs, developers might be able to develop interesting Apps -- since this is yet another "sensor"... :)

This is the only reason I take my iPod nano to the gym. Sometime for the music but mostly to listen to TV. It would be great if I only needed to carry one device! :cool:

How many US citizens would you say have a Sat radio, as opposed to how readily available FM radio is? FM is not dead yet. If you live in an urban area, you would know that.
