iPhone 4 Headphone Remote Malfunctioning.

I own a jailbroken iPhone 4 running 4.0.

I recently bought the Beats By Dre Studio headphones, and the music phone attachment seems to be working strangely.

It has a single button, and that button SOMETIMES turns music on and off. It's unable to answer or hang up calls, and people can't seem to hear a thing even with the built in microphone.

Most of the time, the button shifts the volume up and down by one notch (goes up one notch and then returns back to original).

Any suggestions?

Update:

Cleaned out the jack, no lint. Microphone works on an iPhone 3G with no problem.

Button doesn't work on iPhone 4, but microphone HALF works. The phone's actual microphone still remains active while the headphone mic is active as well.

Any suggestions?

Had the same problem. Went to the Apple Store, and it was replaced no questions asked.
