i bought an iphone 4 unlocked, and updated it to 4.3.3 before i knew what i was doing. my sim doesn't work and it runs 04.10.01 firmware. what is the best way to jailbreak it? and is there any way to unlock it without a gevey sim?

The Gevey sim is the only way to unlock it considering your iPhone is from AT&T.

Jailbreak with either Redsn0w (stable) or jailbreakme.com (less stable). Unlock with Gevey.

i got the gevey supreme and was able to unlock it and it worked for about a day and now i can't get it to work again. also, the data didn't work at all when it was working. do i have to go through the whole unlock process again or is there another way to fix it? and is there any way to make the data available?

Gevey supreme is fake according to them. Data roaming on for making data available.
