My iphone home button isn't working.
I can turn on the screen pushing the top button.
The home button isn't working it all. It will work once in awhile, it just happened few days ago...

There is no Apple store near me

Any suggestions?

Try to restore the iPhone in iTunes. If that doesn't work you would have to mail your iPhone to Apple, since you don't have a store near you.

I'm having some similar issue with mine, but not quite as bad as yours. I'm probably going to take mine in after thanksgiving.
But since you don't have an apple store nearby, you should contact apple care and see what they suggest. Most likely you'll get a replacement.

I sent my phone

got a email back

"Thank you for choosing AppleCare Service.

Your IPHONE 4 has been inspected by Apple technicians, who have determined that it has been subjected to accidental damage or misuse, which is not covered by the warranty, the AppleCare Protection Plan, or other Apple repair program. Therefore your original product is being returned to you unrepaired. You should expect to receive it within two business days along with a letter that gives details of this assessment. "

Thats a bummer!

My other phone line is eligible to upgrade, on the 28th of this month...

That sucks.
So why they deny fixing it, was it pretty beat up?

you would have had better luck if you took it to an apple store... the mail in service for apple likes to reject phones. as long as there is no physical damage on the outside of the phone they have to swap it out. take it in yourself if you have a apple store near you

I think there is no Apple store near him.
Hey D, do you do any iphone 4 home button replacements/repairs?
I noticed ifixyouri doesnt have that available either.

I have no apple store near me. I would have to fly out of town.

My gf is flying out of town, she is willing to take my phone to the apple store, thanksgiving weekend. Her phone is giving her troubles as well.

There is no physical damage on the phone, i always had a case.

So hopefully i'll have luck when she takes my phone in for me.

Do i have to be present, to get a new phone, or my gf can take it in, as long i give my personal information. SS # etc...?

Also i called them back, apple, said it would cost $199 to fix it. WHAT!

you need to come unglued on them! ask for a supervisor. if you phone has no damage then your getting screwed. I know people that have dropped their iPhone 4 and broke the screen or back and some have dropped them in water and they were replaced. sounds like your problem is legit and not from abuse so raise some hell!

Raise them some hell! Haha...
The phone is already on its way back, they couldn't even call and ask for a option.... Just look at it and send it back...
Lame!

call and ask for the supervisor. tell them how unhappy you are with your whole experience with your iPhone 4 and now with AppleCare. let them know you most likely wont be making any future apple purchases (we know thats not true!) in the future. that you heard all of the stories going around about the 4 but you knew if you had an issue that you would be taken care of and now you fell let down. if that doesnt work thats when you raise the HELL I was talking aobut!!

No dents, no physical damages. Looks practically brand new
Just the home button is not working.

Yes, like Dee said above I'd call up Applecare and speak to a Supervisor.
That doesnt make any sense how they can say it was misused where there is no physical damage.
How can you misuse a home button? By pressing it the wrong way? :D

dont bother calling them have your girlfriend take it with her and walk it in to a apple store. you do not need to be present.

My girl went in yesterday to a apple store. She had problems with her 3gs, she got a new replacement with that. Her 3rd one i believe, in a year.

She got me a new iphone 4 replacement as well. Yay!

Person said that my iphone 4, bottom sensor went on or watever. Water. And said it looked has some corrossion.

Oh wells, at least i got a new one.

We just need a local apple store here, instead of flying out of town. Ughh....

You got lucky they replaced it for free with the water indicator tripped.
