My phone has been recently unlocked by the carrier and works with a sim card from another company. It makes calls and sends SMS messages just fine. However, the internet connection doesn't work, even though there is always a strong 3G signal and it is receiving an IP address.
So far as I've understood, it appears to be an APN problem. My iPhone doesn't show the option to edit APN. It is apparently missing an entire tab under "Settings/Cellular". I believe this is a feature that has been locked by the carrier, and hasn't been re-enabled after unlocked, even though I've already restored and updated iOS since.
No one at the carrier technical support staff seems to have any idea of what I'm talking about. As long as I'm using the SIM from another carrier, I'm stuck without internet access. I've tried adding profiles from www.unlockit.co.nz but it hasn't work (my first thought was it didn't work because it's being added on top of a locked and invisible APN setting by the previous carrier).
What can I do? Any ideas?
