its not a big deal, but i find it a bit annoying. when i have my iPhone 4 screen turned off and listen to music. i noticed that when a new song starts, the screen turns back on and shows me what im listening to. is there any way to turn that function off?

My iPhone has never done that, and I've had every iPhone since 2007. When the screen is turned off, it stays off, unless I get a notification.

the fact that the iPhone 4 always wake itself back up to display the next song. i already know what song it is. the phone does not need to tell me what song it is. which is kind of annoying. i just dont like it bcuz it will probably drain my battery faster.

yes and my iPhone screen turns on when I plug it in.

btw my iPhone doesn't do that. are you. jailbroken. what OS do you have?

considering the iPhone battery is used in similar effect to standby when using the iPod function i wouldn't worry too much about drainage

My 3GS did that this morning for one song but never did it again.

Mine isn't jailbroken and has the latest software. It's not a big deal but I'd like to save battery as well (anyway possible).

I've had 4 Iphone 4's and they have all done this. I plug my phone into my car radio to listen to music, and as I leave it on the seat, i'll notice it wake up from time to time. I too thought this was odd but I'm not really concerned about it. I think my previous Ipod Touch did this as well.
