I have heard from multiple sources the iPhones manufactured NOW will address the antenna issue.

How will this look? Will the new iPhones have a new border or something?

What other changes can we expect, for those of us getting iPhones this month?

No, No, and No.

Manufacturing a phone is not like making a cake. You don't "just change" things.

The antenna issues will be addressed next year.

nothing, but if you do see something, be sure to let us know ;)

There will be no iPhone 4 changes before or after September 30th. Steves jobs comment was an off the cuff remark. If they did an actual hardware change how many millions of current iPhone 4 users would they annoy? I know I wouldn't be happy. Plus if they did we'd see a FCC filing in advance since it'd be considered a new phone. In short, don't expect any changes. Expect a new iPhone next year

This. His remarks suggest that after Sept. 30 they'll either include a bumper in the box with the iPhone, or stop offering free ones as enough time has passed for public to dismiss the issue.

Whocaresit vehemently protests this idea... and will likely make a thread about a redesign every other day until October, at which point he will shamefully slink into the shadows never to be heard from again.

I thought this was MacRumors?

exactly... this forum is so anti change it's ridiculous. I don't understand why people find the need to defend their early purchase so zealously. No one can say for sure. A rumor is a rumor. All I can say is, if Apple thinks they can get away with publicly defaming other companies while not fixing their antenna issue, they have another thing coming.

I, personally, don't think Apple is that stupid. I'm sure they'd rather silently fix the problem than to have another cellphone company actually come out and demonstrate that the black line SPOT that loses signal AND data on the iPhone 4 is not the same thing as smothering a phone and forcing reception loss. Simply put, there is no other phone that drops data and signal (be it in marginal reception areas or not) by simply touching it somewhere specifically with a finger. You think the "brand x phone doesn't need a case" ad is the end of it? I think not. Not after what Steve pulled during and after the press conference. Just wait and see. I work for a major cell company.

To me, it's not even about the iphone 4 , early adopters, ridiculous solutions, etc... It's about brand image. I'd hate to see Apple's public image tarnishing even further. You have to admit, they haven't exactly been getting all the best press for the past year or so.

And I think Apple is smart. And has something to prove as well. Jobs himself said the Antenna is the best design they've had. He's not going to change it and admit they were wrong

They are also not going to open themselves up to 3+ million customers coming back to the store screaming at them when it becomes public (AND IT WILL BECOME PUBLIC) that they changes anything.

But dream away

There's NOT going to be a manufacturing change.

loving my iphone 4 every single day :D

I am on VODAFONE INDIA and it works without any problem.

No death grip nothing

David Bowie seemed to think there would be many.

Btw, all new iP4s after 08/16/2010 will have new antennas. No joke.

You can read about it here.
