So I have like 150 apps now and things are a little bit sluggish what could cause sluggishness on an iPhone?

When was your last reboot? Do that and see how it goes and if it doesn't help just backup and restore in iTunes.

not sure but the best fix i know for something like that is to do a
backup
clean install/restore

that usually fixes any software bugs:apple:

How many GBs do you have filled? When I filled up my 16 GB 3GS thing slowed down a whole lot. Not sure if that's the reason, but it was the only thing I could think of.

You seem to have diagnosed the problem yourself. How many of those are actually running?

I thought only ones with a play symbol at the top are running. If every app I start stays running I'm screwed. Can I turn them off?

Double tap the home button, hold your finger on one app until the X's appear, & close them.

The restart sounds good, too. If I leave my computers on for days on end, they tend to slow down a vast amount.
