How soon is the new iPhone 4 likely to be able to be jailbroken and unlocked?

I am sure nobody knows right now 100%, so how fast had it been with new iPhone releases in the past?

Wasn't the iPad jailbroken in a day? The code might not have been released the same day, but you best be sure they were hard at work on it the moment they got it.

However, the iPhone 4 may be a different beast altogether. While it has a different OS, it will likely have a different baseband and bootloader. Maybe Apple will have plugged up all the known exploits by now... You do recall they were hiring a security expert a while back.

Wow, one day huh. Hopefully Apple hasn't made this thing unbreakable..

iOS 4 is already jailbroken and I believe you will be able to unlock them soon... if you can't already. I only needed to jailbreak mine and didn't check into unlocking.

only for existing devices with already known exploits. still need an exploit of some sort, which is too early to know for iphone 4.
