iPhone 4 Landscape video playback issue

When I record holding the video in the landscape position, and try to play it back, it doesnt show up in landscape mode when I have the phone held in landscape mode, but as soon as i move the phone upright while the video is playing, the video turns into landscape mode so i have to tilt my head to see. What is going on here? How do I resolve this?
