iphone 4 less bright than iphone 3g with brightness selector in the mid position

i was comparing the screen of my iphone 4 with my iphone 3g and while at max level they both appear equally as bright, when set in the mid position the 3g appears brighter,

just wondering if this is normal thanks

Same on mine and every iPhone 4 I've seen so far so yes this is normal. If you want it brighter just move the toggle a little higher while leaving auto brightness on.

Noticed it too. Always kept my EDGE and 3G at halfway.

Bumped the 4 up just a tad. Display looks beautiful.

Battery life still better than the other two.
