iPhone 4 Lock Button Randomly Unresponsive

Hello. For about the past two months I have been having trouble with the lock button on my iPhone 4. Sometimes I have to press it between 10 -15 times to get the phone to lock, and sometimes it works normally. It seems like the problem occurs after I use certain Apps, but that could just be me trying to make connections that aren't really there. Has anyone else been experiencing this and does anyone have any ideas of how to fix it?
