AppleCare refuses to fix my lock button that will not depress.

I can't lock the screen or restart the damn thing. My flash is also broken. These stopped working at totally different times (about 1 year apart) so it's not related to a single event.

They claimed it was due to misuse or accidental damage. GFY Apple. This phone has been in a case and never dropped it's entire life. Why spend the money on AppleCare if they don't actually repair things?

Did they claim there was water damage? Is your iPhone out of warranty? And how many times have you tried getting it replaced?

EDIT: Didn't see the part implying you have AppleCare. I'm assuming it's still under the AppleCare warranty that you purchased.

Under warranty still. Still under AppleCare. FIRST EVER use of AppleCare for any of my Apple products. They didn't say anything about water damage. Just refused to work on it.

This phone is in excellent condition with no scratches even! I don't get it. Maybe it's time to switch to an Android phone is Apple is going to be like this.
