iphone 4 lock screen issue?

I have noticed that my Iphone 4 has not been screen locking when i am in a text message screen with my keyboard open. Anyone noticed this?

I tried to check if i have the lock screen on to 1 minute which i did, but the screen only locked after 5 minutes when I was in the middle of a text message.

Where if was on home screen it locked normally at 1 minute.
