Iphone 4 Lost/Stolen & Apple service.

Hello.

There might be numerous topics regarding this, but i don't want to wake up any dead horses.



I have left my work iphone in the office 2 days ago, went for a meeting, came back, iphone Gone.
Is there any way that i can track it?
Is there any way that apple can track it for me?

I dont want to ring any alarm bells at my office since i suspect a member of staff to have taken it, unfortunately there are No camera's on my floor so i do not have any direct evidence/proof.
I have been in contact with the HR department and they tell me that as long as i do not have any evidence, it is a Lost fight on its own..

I have bought my Iphone 4 from the Apple store, it was Sim-Lock-Free (neverlocked) so not binded to any provider.
I have heard that Providers can track down a phone trough the registered Imei number. (when the phone is Sim-Locked)
Can the Apple store do this too?

Yes i would like my iphone back, but foremost i would like to see the thief arrested and kicked the F** out of my office/company.

Firstly, if you have Find My iPhone (but assuming that you made this thread you do not) You could've tracked it.

Secondly yes... you can report the IMEI as stolen to carriers and they can contact you or prevent the phone from being activated once that IMEI number lights up in their system.

Good luck! It's frustrating to lose a phone.

IMEI can be blacklisted.
Apple can track it if you have find my iPhone

I don't know where the OP is located, but unless they've recently changed, AT&T will not blacklist IMEIs.

Also, Apple will not facilitate in helping recover stolen equipment. If the OP had "Find my iPhone" enabled, he can track it, but Apple themselves will not get involved, even if the stolen iPhone is brought into an Apple Store for warranty service.

I axially do have Find my iphone via my Mobile me, but that cannot seem to locate my iphone, i have the feeling it has been Restored.
I have tried to call my number numerous times, but i guess the first thing people trow out is the sim-card.

Now if i am reading it right, i can contact Providers and let them know about my "stolen" iphone, tell them my IMEI nr and they can put a block on it.

I see a little problem in this right away..
There are over 20 active providers here in the UK, and some of my colleagues are foreign europeans (language specialists) so i would be looking at a ton of providers to contact,.. Eeek.

Is there a possibility that i contact apple about a stolen product?
Cause what would apple do if someone stole an iphone from them?
they must be able to track down their sold products in some way.
although i am reading online that they usually don't go trough all the hassle for just one phone since it seems to be very expensive...

I have also heard a Myth that apple can only track items if this is approved in court..

I hate to think of my phone as being gone, it is not only frustrating, it makes me a bit angry.
I could go out to the apple store and buy another one right now, i will eventually, but that wont solve the case of a possible thief in my office..
