iPhone 4 messaging

So I have an iPhone 4 16gb in white and there is a problem when it comes to texting. Sometimes whenever I text my friends during the day, some won't receive my messages and most of the time I don't get theirs for some reason. It might be the phone or the service provider. >.< Is there like some explanation or solution to my problem.

I use a gevey sim and my ios is on 5.0.1. Running on t-mobile lol.
