I've had my iPhone 4 for about a year but since yesterday it's started cutting out on calls. I'm fairly sure that it's just the microphone that's cutting out and it sounds like it's related to the proximity sensor.

Is there anyway to fix this? From what I recall this was more a software issue than a hardware one when everyone was having problems with the microphone/proximity on release.

Cheers

Why would the proximity sensor affect the microphone at all? The only thing the proximity sensor does is turn your screen on/off and adjust the brightness of the screen.

Really? I thought there was some kind of proximity bug affecting the microphone.

In that case any ideas what's wrong? Broken/loose microphone? If so can it be fixed?
