Iphone 4 microsim will not get any response out of a razr

well i was just wondering if this was a problem with the sim, or the phone. any help you guys could supply would be great

Well i want a **** phone to use. I got this razr on ebay. It came with a charger and no battery (I'll buy one if i can get this to work)
So i have a microsim adaptor as shown in the first pic. when i put it in it still says insert sim. No matter which way i put it in i can't get any response out of it.
What do?

I have the same phone rzr vxx or something like that. Mine does the same thing with the sim and only charger. For some reason (insert sim) it goes away when there's a battery.

Oh i dont have a battery it came without one. Thats good to know. Thank you. I'll buy one.
