Iphone 4 mics-secondary noise canceling, recording level control finally?

Anyone have any details on what this extra mic does and if you can control recording levels finally now with the iphone 4?

I would assume you can't control it or Stevie would of said so. It filters the background noise and makes the call clearer on both sides. People that I have seen talk about Evo's version of the same thing say it's awesome. (I think it was Evo....)
