I'm eligible for an early upgrade from Vodafone soon and I'm thinking of taking it up and getting a iPhone 4S since my partners iPhone 3GS is starting to act up and getting quite cranky now, she could then take up my 4. The problem is though I bought the 4 through Vodafone and will assume it's locked to Vodafone's network. The 3GS is a phone I bought on pay&go when it was released on O2 and since she has a O2 contract all that was needed was popping in the O2 sim when she took the 3GS but now for her to have my 4 it will need unlocking.

So my question is just how easy is it to network unlock an iPhone 4? Also once unlocked will it remain that way and can she just keep updating as I have through iTunes once done?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

It's currently running iOS 5.

Thanks for the link I will have to try that. Didn't realise Vodafone offered that option.
