If I want to buy an iPhone at full price at an Apple store, do I need to have an AT&T contract? I read somewhere that if you buy it at an Apple store you can just get the phone, yet in an AT&T store you need to have a voice plan. Is this true?

I have T-Mobile, so I don't have AT&T.

You may have been reading an old article about the original iPhone, in which it was possible to buy an iPhone at an Apple store without signing a contract. Ever since the iPhone 3G however, it's no longer possible since people were buying and unlocking them.

Just gotta wait til someone who has no AT&T account goes and buys an iPhone at the Apple Store/ Best Buy/ Radioshack/ some other store without any problems.
Hopefully those people will update us on that matter.
