I have both a 3GS and an iPhone 4 the household and just recently, the iPhone 4 doesnt seem to be able to browse the internet using our wifi network.

All laptops and the 3gs connect perfectly using DHCP but the iPhone 4 seems to have issues.

After going into Wi-Fi Networks > Clicking the network in question, then DHCP on the phones, the iPhone 4 displays a complete different set of IP & Subnet mask numbers, compared to the 3gs

Please can anyone shed any light on why this may be happening?

My friend who also has an iPhone 4 struggles to use our wi-fi network here

Cheers

could be the firewall on your router. what type of security are you using, if any? did you try manually entering your network settings? ip, dns, etc?

The router is a Netgear DG8343 v4.

Im not aware of using an security on the router to be honest.

What I have done though, is enter the details into the iPhone 4 manually in the static IP part (using the 3GS for reference) and changing the last part of the IP Address to a random number and now its working great.

What does this suggest now its working static but not DHCP?
