iPhone 4 on iOS 6 No Sim Error

I've updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 but now whenever I lose my carrier signal, the ''No service'' sign appears in the left corner and it is immediately replaced by ''No SIM''. I've rebooted my device and it doesn't help. I might consider a full restore. Any ideas?

Turn off device. Eject sim, replace sim making sure it is snug in its tray. Turn device back on.

You really shouldn't eject sim while device is on.
